Christmas Special Sunday 13th December 2015 – meet Peter Heaton Jones MP
The ever growing and popular Pannier Antiques market in South Molton, North Devon celebrates its first anniversary with a Christmas Special on Sunday 13th December. Local North Devon MP, Peter Heaton-Jones is delighted to return to the market on the first anniversary. Peter was instrumental in encouraging this new business to be set up last year. As a candidate Peter believed that new businesses were the future of North Devon. As an MP, Peter is keen to encourage businesses grow and develop.
Michael Buckingham, whose family have run different businesses in South Molton for generations was particularly pleased to utilise the Indoor Pannier Market on a Sunday. In addition to the regular Thursday and Saturday markets run by the town and regular Sunday Flea Markets, Michael felt that this important asset was underutilised and set about putting South Molton back on the map as a destination for antiques, a position it last held about thirty years ago!
Antiques have been supplemented with collectables, vintage and nostalgia and there are some amazing stall holders to be seen on the third Sunday of the month. Regulars include those with a fine range of goods to suit every pocket and style, jewellery dealers are particularly popular. Furniture, antique and distressed always sell well and a number of different stalls provide a fine range of choice. Specialist traders deal in very diverse specialities, from ethnic arts to agricultural goods, from North Devon ceramics to vintage clothes. Each month provides a virtual cornucopia of goods. Free parking, free entry and an excellent café make this an ideal day out whatever the weather.
Looking for a lunch to compliment your day out? Both The George Hotel and Stumbles restaurant in the centre of South Molton provide excellent Sunday lunches. Sunday brunch more your thing? EATS on South Street provide the best Sunday brunch in the area. Sweet treats for the kids? Bon Bons in the square has everything for a sweet tooth and they’re open on Sunday.
The market on Sunday 13th December has a Christmas theme and stall holders are encouraged to decorate their stall, and themselves, in Christmas finery. Peter Heaton-Jones MP will be asked to select a winner.
Whatever you are doing, whatever the weather come and join our Christmas celebrations on Sunday 13th December, meet Peter Heaton Jones MP and buy that extra special, thoughtful gift for those you love.
We look forward to welcoming you to South Molton, just off the A361and 30 minutes from the M5.
